Jeff Hurdley, a deacon candidate for the Diocese of Columbus and parishioner at St. Mark in Lancaster, will be interning at St. Mary of the Assumption this year and next. During his internship at St. Mary, Jeff will be observing how the sacraments are celebrated and how outreach ministries are conducted.

Deacon candidates go through a 4 year formation program that includes taking classes at the Pontifical College Josephinum and participating in an internship at a parish other than their own. Deacon candidates are required to go through a series of background checks and they and their wives are required to undergo a formal psychological assessment.

Jeff and his wife, Christine, have been married for 31 years, and they have 3 adult children. He is a retired government attorney. Please welcome Jeff and Chris!
