Congratulations to Grace Gundelfinger, St. Mary School Class of 2012, for receiving the 2018 Carlton Rider Distinguished Alumni Award. Grace is a wonderful example of what it means to live the Catholic faith. Grace acknowledges that attending Mass and the overwhelming outpouring of prayer helped her through this past year as she battled Hodgkins Disease. During her treatments, Grace rarely missed attending a Mass with the school children. No matter how she felt, Grace was always sitting behind the students as they celebrated Mass each Tuesday. Grace recently began her third year of nursing school and looks forward to pursuing a career in the healthcare field.
St. Mary School was excited to welcome State Representative Tim Shaffer to the school on Monday, October 22. Mr. Shaffer recognized St. Mary School for receiving the Harold C. Shaw award last July. The Harold C. Shaw award is given by the Ohio Academy of Science. St. Mary School received this award as part of State Science Day where 100% of the participating students from St. Mary School received a superior rating.
This past month saw the end of our first quarter of school and report cards published last Friday, October 26. If you have questions on how to view your child’s first quarter report card, please contact the school.
We welcome everyone to St. Mary School on Saturday, November 10 from 3 pm – 8 pm and Sunday, November 11 from 10 am to 2 pm for the Holiday Happening. Parents have been working hard to make this annual tradition a rousing success! If you have not been to Holiday Happening for a few years, why not pay a visit? There will be talent shows, a children’s auction, silent auction and a live auction on Sunday. The cafeteria will be busy serving food including the always popular chicken and noodles!
