Our parish school was happy to welcome 40 new students this year. Students and teachers have been settling into their routines using Chromebooks and online resources in conjunction with many hands-on-projects.

Our fourth grade class has already made an educational trip to Hopewell Culture National Historical Park in Chillicothe. The eighth grade class has traveled to Old Man’s Cave in Hocking Hills State Park to study and observe habitats, microhabitats and niches of native organisms with Naturalist Patrick Quackenbush.

Mrs. Kemmerer and our second grade class received publicity in the Catholic Times for their classroom garden tower which grows plants  aeroponically — or, without soil! Find a second grade student and ask where they’re growing…

We are very excited to welcome State Representative Tim Shaffer to our school on Monday, 22 October at 10 am. Mr. Shaffer is coming to recognize St. Mary School teachers and students for receiving the Harold C. Shaw award this past July. The Harold C. Shaw award is given by the Ohio Academy of Science. St. Mary School received this award as part of State Science Day where 100% of the participating students from our school received a superior rating.
