The social concerns committee of our parish is happy to welcome Julie Stalford, MSW, LSW, to come and address the parish concerning mental health issues on Sunday, 27 October at 10 am in the spirit center. She will discuss the topics of anxiety and mental health as well as helpful tools for parents and teens. Julie is approved by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board as a Licensed Social Worker. She is a member of the Clinical Social Work Association. Julie also has a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Spanish from Bradley University as well as a Master of Arts in Clinical Social Work from Ohio University. Her Master’s research included “Factors influencing Emotional Intelligence in young adults.” Prior work experience includes extensive work overseas as a coordinator for Peace Corps, Paraguay in sustainable development, working with dying aids patients and teaching Hispanic adults English. Her areas of therapy focus are in grief counseling, adult children of alcoholics and the St. Thomas Aquinas “Affirmation” psychotherapy discipline. Coffee and donuts will be served!
