Homeless Outreach

Updated December of 2022

WHAT WE HAVE FOUND?
While our ministry is called Homeless Outreach, we have come to realize that while; there are many homeless individuals, there are a substantial number without permanent shelter.

WHAT WE ARE DOING ABOUT IT.
We are meeting the “unsettled” during free meals at First United Methodist Church and Connextion West. Interacting with those attending has produced a number of opportunities for us to help; be it a connection to social services, providing emergency clothing and supplies or just having a friendly conversation.

We have packed and distributed 50 “Blessing Bags”, St Mary School children will pack more in early 2023.

The Knights of Columbus provided us with winter coats that we distributed.

We will be supporting a Habitat for Humanity home to be built this Spring.

HOW CAN ST MARY PARISHIONERS PARTICIPATE?
Please remember in your prayers, by name, all those that we are attempting to help:
(Owen, Nick, Scott, Bob, Adam & Sarah, Johnetta, Mary, Michael, Andy & Tommy)

Sign up to help at Saturday free breakfasts at Connection West and consider serving as a mentor in their upcoming program.

Continue to contribute to our occasion campaigns for food, clothing, and other needs as we uncover them.

Consider joining us at free community meals to meet and attempt to engage attendees with compassion.

Be a Team Responder; helping those willing to take the necessary steps to improve their circumstances.
(This might involve getting them to appointments and guiding them through bureaucratic processes.)

Please contact us with any questions, suggestions, or advice.
