Saint Mary of the Assumption

Dear Parishioners,
Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity and we hear that most quoted of passages from the Gospel according to John: God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. What God most desires is that we have union with him. That we be caught up in the very love that exists between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, living our lives rooted in the Blessed Trinity, both now and in eternity.
The first public Masses after a 10-week hiatus went well. We had about 80 people at the 5:30 on Saturday evening, 65 and 110 people at the 8:45 and 11:15 respectively. Thanks to all those who stayed and helped to sanitize the church after the Masses. My heart aches for those who desire to return to Mass, but simply cannot risk it at this time. You are in my thoughts and prayers at each Mass. I am longing for the day you can return.
Hopefully, in the last couple weeks, you have received a phone call from our phone ministry group. The goal was to reach out to every parish household, asking how they were doing and if they needed anything. Unfortunately, some of the phone numbers we had were no longer active. It is understandable as cell phones become the primary phone and landlines are switched off. Folks forget to inform the parish office of their new cell phone number. If you did not receive a phone call, it is likely because we do not have a good number for you. You can correct this by going to the St. Mary website and filling out the update my information box or by calling the parish office.
Next Sunday is Corpus Christi and we will host the Deanery celebration of this feast. It will need to be simple this year and you can find more information in the bulletin and on the webpage. It will be a wonderful opportunity to come to church and spend quiet time in prayer.
